An electronic cigarette also known as a personal vaporizer (PV) or electronic delivery system (ENDS) or simply e-cigarrette is a battery powered device which simulates tobacco by producing an aerosol rather than smoke. Thus aerosol is popularly but inaccurately called a vapor. It was introduced to the public to shield non smokers from the dangerous effects of smoking.
